The Amenity Forum was formed to promote environmental stewardship in amenity horticulture, landscaping and sport turf. A key objective is to encourage 'Best Practice' by all users of pesticides in the amenity sector.

The 'Check Your Sprayer' campaign is the second in a series of Best Practice Guidance Notes. The previous Notes covered the topic of Specification for Weed Control Contracts.

The Amenity Forum comprises of twenty-five member organisations representing the sector plus six Government observers and is becoming recognised as the lead 'consultative organisation' for the amenity sector. The Forum is also a member of the Implementation Group lead by the Pesticides Directorate for the Government's Amenity Action Plan.
